Melissa just got a great job at a hospital. She attributes part of her success to her volunteer work with the Neighbourhood Centre. In early 2013, after she had graduated from university and began volunteering as a Program Assistant. It was a posting that allowed her to use and develop essential skills that greatly assisted in her candidacy for her current employment.
Although I have had clerical and administrative experience, this Program Assistant position allowed me to easily list these skills and have a position attached (rather than a more unsubstantiated claim). It also gave me a chance to use my current knowledge and experience in a practical setting. I also greatly enjoyed the time I have spent here because of the wonderful people I get to work with.
For Melissa, it was “a great learning environment with nurturing individuals to help anyone strive and enhance their skills. So, for all this, Thank you!”
Thank you Melissa!
